Sex toys found abandoned behind shop in Malaysia

A number of sex toys, stimulants and pornographic DVDs were found abandoned in a box behind a shop in Malaysia.

The assortment of items is believed to have been abandoned in Inanam after they were smuggled in.

Sabah Customs deputy director (Prevention) Liah Omar said the China-made goods had a street value of about RM11,000.

“All the items are banned from being imported into the country,” the Star Online quoted him as saying.

He also added that the Customs were investigating how the items had been brought there.

Networking Site Opposing Dot-XXX Launches

Posted Aug 10th, 2010 12:37 PM by G. Zisk Rice

PORTLAND, Ore.—DotXXXOpposition.com has launched. The Theresa “Darklady” Reed production features networking, news and information for those who oppose ICM Registry’s bid to run the adult-content-specific dot-xxx sponsored Top-Level Domain.

The website leads with a streaming version of .XXX – The Movie!, a satirical send-up of the controversy and the players involved. Reed wrote the screenplay for the multi-stakeholder production, which debuted Aug. 8 as an intro to a panel discussion about the issue during The AVN Show in Hollywood, Fla.

Wasteland.com founder Colin Rowntree cast and helmed the filming.

“Colin loved [the script],” Reed said. “He then sent out the word that anyone who wanted a cameo to support [the project] should send in some footage. Before you knew it, we were literally swamped with submissions, some from places as far away as Tibet, from people who never even had a computer. They didn’t all make the cut, but many adult and sex toy industry leaders did make it into the final version.”

The eight-minute video features cameos by Larry Flynt, John Stagliano, Joanna Angel, Quinten Boyer, Allison Vivas, Peter Acworth, Ron Cadwell, Mitch Farber and a plethora of other adult entertainment luminaries, all of whom contributed their time. The lead role of Stuart Lowley was performed by a professional actor who is the face of several television ad campaigns.

.XXX – The Movie may be viewed at DotXXXOpposition.com. Viewers are encouraged to share their thoughts and opinions about the movie and the issue

Cybernet Expo welcomes X Industry Jobs / HR solutions as Career Assistance Counselor to Cybernet Expo. Perfect for companies looking to hire and for prospective employees attending Cybernet Expo.

X Industry Jobs/ HR Solutions was established in 2007, by Adult Entertainment Industry Veteran Eddie K. X Industry Jobs was formed because of the overwhelming outcry by industry companies and industry job seekers not having a way to connect with one another. We take pride in being the first and only search firm that specializes in finding top-quality candidates for Adult Industry companies in a timely manner. We also keep all candidates and hiring companies confidential so no pressure is put on either party until mutual interest is shown.

XIndustryJobs.com customizes its services to meet the specialized needs of leaders in adult dot-com or offline adult companies. The key to our success is the creation of long-term relationships. Placing the right candidate in the right job with the right company can only happen when knowledge and understanding of both sides is part of the equation. We spend extensive time with clients and candidates so we’re in step with their goals, culture and priorities.

Because of the need and the cutbacks by adult companies, we recently have launched our HR Solutions for adult companies that may need to outsource some of their HR tasks as well. We are equipped to handle anything from overseeing organizational structure and staffing to Regulatory Compliance (FMLA, HIPAA, Sarbanes-Oxley).

For additional information or to set up a time to meet at the upcoming show, feel free to contact Eddie by emailing eddie@xindustryjobs.com or calling 614.390.6581.

Porn sites get their own domain: ‘.xxx’

On Friday, ICANN, the not-for-profit corporation that coordinates the internet’s naming system, voted to allow the application of the controversial “.xxx” top-level domain name for sites that display adult content.

The domain, which would need further approval before going live on the internet, would be applied to adult entertainment sites just as “.com” is now.

The .xxx internet suffix, which was first proposed six years ago by ICM Registry, a group that sells domain names, “will provide a place online for adult entertainment providers and their service providers who want to be part of our voluntary self regulatory community,” according to that company’s news release.

Adopting .xxx will be optional. However, some tech blogs speculate a push to make the domain mandatory for adult-only sites.

ICM Registry has already taken 110,000 pre-reservations for the domain, which could be available in early 2011, if not sooner, its news release states.

While the company says labeling adult content online “will allow for simple and effective filtering for those who wish to do so,” not everyone is pleased with ICANN’s decision to approve the domain.

Some people involved in the industry are hesitant to accept the domain, “fearing it will lead to censorship, as it would be very easy to block the entire domain instead of individual sites,” Rick Johnson of Portfolio.com wrote Thursday.

On the other hand, “some religious groups are against the creation of the domain, as it would lend more legitimacy to the adult entertainment industry,” he wrote.

What do you think of the “.xxx” top-level domain? Is it necessary? Let us know with comments on this post.
